30:17 ‘Subhnallah!’ How do you say it! What does it mean to you! What significance does it carry to you?

30:17 ‘Subhnallah!’
|| How do you say it! What does it mean to you! What significance does it carry to you? ||
30:17 “So exalt Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.”

The universe amazes you.
The creation of the universe is amazing.
The way the universe works is amazing.
The creation of human beings is amazing.
The creation of nature is amazing.
And that amazing creations make Tasbeah of their creator!
(Al-Quran 17:44, 38:18, 22:18, 16:48-49)
And the Tasbeah of the creations is ‘Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi’
(17:44, 64:1),
(Musnad Ahmad and Kashful Astar, Hadith: 3069.
Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.4 pg 219-220 & vol.10 pg 84
Sharhul Ihya, vol. 5 pg 13
Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 2 pg 318)

And among these amazing creations, the best is the human being.
And the human being is created to worship the Creation while the entire creation was created to serve the best creation, human being! (45:13)
And then, the Creator has sent His messengers to teach people how to worship Him, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala (62:2)
And in that worship, you have two positions where you say the Tasbeah ‘Subhana Rabbia Al-Azeem, Wa Bihamdihi’, ‘Subhana Rabbia Al-A’ala Wa Bihamdihi’,
(Sunan Abu Daud 870, Saheeh)

So, there is a common word, Subhana! in both positions.
So, it shows you the significance of this word ‘Subhana!’
The Tasbeah of the creations is ‘Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi’.
The Tasbeah of the Malaikah (the Angels) are ‘Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi’
(Saheeh Muslim 6925/ 84 (2731)
The Tasbeah of the best Creation is ‘Subhana Rabbia Al-Azeem, Wa Bihamdihi’, ‘Subhana Rabbia Al-A’ala Wa Bihamdihi’,

What do you understand and what do you take from this?
The core essence of the creation is ‘Subhana!’
The core purpose of the creation is ‘Subhana!’
The core word of the Ebadah of the entire creation is Subhana!
Subhanallah!

So, the entire creation was made to worship the creator and they are made to recite this Tasbeah ‘Subhana’
And then the best of the creations were taught to say the same word, ‘Subhana’
How can you get the significance of this word more clearly than this! Subhanallah!
So, this is one way to understand the significance of this word.
And this is just only a logical and relative significance.
But let me now take you to another way, beyond logic,
to understand the significance of the word through humanly possible emotional expressions!

And what are those expressions?
The expressions of overwhelming experience!
You are human, you are limited in capabilities.
So, when something amazes you, and you get overwhelmed by it, you can’t even describe such an event in words.
But then, when something goes way beyond your overwhelming limit, what do you do!
That makes you lose control of yourself.
You can’t take it.
You get fainted!

So, this is what happened with Musa Alayhi Wa Sallam.
He couldn’t take the shock of Allah’s ‘Tajalla’ on the mountains, it exploded, so did Musa Alaihi Wa Sallam. (Al-Quranul Kareem 7:143)
He gets fainted!
When he revived, how did he express his such state which made him fainted! He just said, this word, ‘Subhana’
Subhanallah!
‘Subhanaka Tubtu Elaika, Inni Awalul Mu’mineen’ (Al-Quranul Hakeem 7:143)
That’s the word for a human being to describe the indescribable!

This is the significance of the word ‘Subhana’
‘Subhana’ is to use for Indescribable human experience!
Then come to another emotional expression.
When men become helpless,
There’s no power remain of him, except the ability to breath, how can you describe this helplessness!
Again, through the same word, ‘Subhana!’

When Yunus Alalihi Wa Sallam was inside the fish, when the only thing left of him was the ability to breathe, he said,
‘La Ilaha Illa Anta, Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minajjolimeen. (Al-Quranul Majeed 21:87)
This is what ‘Subhana’ means!
‘Subhana!’ is to describe the ultimate helplessness limit of human beings!
Subhanallah!

So, when you go to Ruku’a and Sujud in your Salah, how do you dare to raise yourself from the position in just less than 3 seconds!
How do you make even an expression near to the expression required of you in just less than 3 seconds!
It doesn’t go with human comprehension!
How do you prepare yourself to say ‘Subhana’ when this is what you are created for!
Aren’t you supposed to say it the best way, the best way humanly possible, being the best of the creations!!
At least give it 10 seconds!
So that you can rest your body in the position and rest your mind thereafter and only then put your mind to the significance of ‘Subhana!

Can you imagine the way you pray Salah, for which you were created?
Can you imagine the way you pray Salah, was taught by Jibraeel Alaihi Wa Sallam!
Can you imagine the way you pray Salah, was prayed by Rasulullah Sallillahu Alaihi Wa Sallam!
Can you imagine yourself praying with Rasulullah Sallillahu Alaihi Wa Sallam!
Can you imagine the way you pray Salah, was prayed by any Salaf that you claim to follow!
No! actually you follow the way your Ulema taught you!
You follow your Ulema over the ways of your Rasul! Sallillahu Alaihi Wa Sallam.
You follow your Ulema over the ways of the Salaf!
Your Islam is not based on the Quran, Sunnah, and understanding of the Salaf, which you claim.
Rather your Islam is based on the Ulama of the Khalaf!

May Allah guide you O Muslim!
May Allah guide me!
Wa Allahu A’alam!

Note: This is not to intend to give a new method of Salah, rather benefit the thoughtful minds, In Shaa Allah! Bi-Iznillah!

Share, if there's benefit in it. Dawah benefits YOU!
